Heartland Bank celebrates ‘Community Banking Month’ each April through our partnership with the Independent Community Bankers of America, the nation’s voice for nearly 7,000 community banks across the country. And, what’s not to celebrate? With more than 51,000 locations nationwide and employing 700,000 Americans, ICBA member institutions hold $3.8 trillion in assets, $3.1 trillion in deposits, and $2.6 trillion in loans to consumers, small businesses and the agricultural community. Have you ever wondered, though, what exactly is a Community Bank?

As a result of slowly outgrowing our headquarters in Gahanna, we announced last week the location of a new expanded corporate center, a six acre site in Whitehall along North Hamilton Road, at the gateway of Whitehall Community Park. As part of the corporate center building, Heartland Bank will open its 15th branch office in central Ohio to serve the Whitehall community. Initial plans call for the new two story building to be 60,000 square feet, containing the corporate offices and all support areas for nearly 100 employees. Moody Nolan has been selected as the architect of record on this project.

Heartland Bank has teamed up with the owners of the new Copious Columbus restaurant and the Notes nightclub in the Brewery District to present the inaugural show in the Heartland Bank Feel Good Music Series. Tickets are available now for the inaugural shows on Friday, March 18, with the Blues Traveler front-man, John Popper.

Heartland Bank and 104.9 The River have teamed up again this year to present the 9th annual Money Matters Free Financial Summit on Saturday, March 19. The First Baptist Church of Grove City will host the event again this year and we’re looking forward to providing attendees with a variety of seminars n how to better manage their finances and plan for the future.
