Slow down and evaluate before you click on links in any emails, especially on ones that you were not expecting.  Do not respond to any requests for personal or financial information (such as full credit card or Social Security numbers) from any email.  Call, email and text spoofing is on the rise - beware as they may appear like they are coming from Heartland Bank.  Stay up to date on the latest consumer alerts here (Federal Trade Commission site).
 

If you believe that you may have responded to a fraudulent email or text and disclosed personal or account information, we recommend immediate action:

  • Call Heartland Bank at 1-800-697-0049 or stop into any local Heartland Bank branch for assistance
  • Alert one of these credit reporting agencies - Experian, Equifax or TransUnion
  • File a report with the local police or sheriff
  • Alert any of your other financial institutions
