This Month's Employee Spotlight Shines on Sherry Byrne

Saturday, October 4, 2014/Categories: Employee Spotlight

This month’s Employee Spotlight features another effective leader, respected colleague and self-motivated member of the Heartland Bank team, our Grove City AO, Assistant Manager Sherry Byrne. While she studied Elementary Education in college in Florida, her co-workers in Grove City are sure happy that Sherry gave up the idea of being a teacher and became a banker!

As a valued member of the Grove City branch, Sherry spends her work days assisting branch manager Shirley Spellman with day to day operations and helping clients with mortgage and consumer loans. A 14 year member of the Sertoma Club, she’s served as a board member, President and President Elect. Just last year, Sherry had the opportunity to participate in a leadership program with the Grove City Chamber of Commerce and is looking forward to becoming more involved with more Chamber activities in the coming year.

“Sherry’s continued dedication to high quality service of all Heartland Bank customers is to be admired. Her utmost priority is delivering solutions quickly and with a smile,” said Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO of Heartland Bank. “Her team in Grove City relies on her heavily as a consistent and strong leader.”

The Quality and Excellence Award has been a tradition at Heartland Bank since 1994 and many of our employees wear the pin each day that signifies this honor. Employees that have been given this award were chosen based on excellent customer service, being an example of a team player, helping other employees and exceeding the expectations of their job duties and responsibilities. Sherry was proud to be presented with the Quality and Excellence pin in November of 1999. To her, it means “Going the extra mile (or two) for my clients and co-workers. Being closely involved with the Grove City community for almost 32 years, I know many of our clients and want them to know that Heartland Bank cares about them,” she said.

In her spare time, Sherry spends time with family, friends and her cocker spaniels – Milley and Miley. She loves to read mysteries, work crossword puzzles and go for walks in her Grove City neighborhood.

What would Sherry tell potential clients about her employer? “I would love it if our clients knew the Heartland Story. They can find out who we really are by taking a look at the History Wall in every one of our branch locations. Heartland Bank should be the bank of choice because of our integrity, leadership and our wonderful employees. We’re willing to stop what we are doing and take time for our clients. I am most proud of the wonderful relationships I’ve developed over the years with my Heartland family and our clients,” she said.

It’s people like Sherry that allow Heartland Bank to give such first class customer service day in and day out. Check us out! You’ll be glad you did.
