Laurie Pfeiffer - This Month's Employee Spotlight

Saturday, November 2, 2013/Categories: Employee Spotlight

This month’s Employee Spotlight features another effective leader, respected colleague and self-motivated member of the Heartland Bank team, our VP, Commercial Relationship Manager, Laurie Pfeiffer. A proud graduate of The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, she works hard as an advisor for local businesses with respect to their commercial financial needs.

As a valued member of the Commercial Loan Department, Laurie spends her work days trying to promote the growth and development of her portfolio through calling efforts, community involvement and related activities. She prepares accurate and concise loan analysis for review and decision making and most importantly, she conducts proper portfolio management including annual reviews, customer credit data maintenance and collection activities.

Heartland Bank Chairman, President and CEO Scott McComb said “Laurie's community bank experience and her natural demeanor make for a great fit with our clients. She is able to add significant value to her clients through her expertise in banking. We look forward to her efforts for many years to come.”

This year, Westerville Chamber of Commerce President Janet Tessler Davis was pleased to present Laurie with the August “Involved Member of the Month Award” for her involvement in the 40th annual Music & Arts Festival, her help with the Chamber’s golf outing and the upcoming Evening of Elegance Auction. “Laurie is one of those volunteers that makes the best of whatever she does. If she says she will do something or be somewhere you can count on Laurie. Her pleasant, friendly personality goes a long way in her volunteer efforts and I would imagine is a big contributor to the success she experiences in her job,” Janet said.

When Heartland Bank partnered with the Ohio Statewide Development Corporation and completed a debt refinance for a client, they utilized Laurie’s expertise with the OSDC 504 Temporary Refinance Program, and the new financing structure enhanced the financial position of that client. While the client was able to consolidate their business and real estate debt into a new long-term loan structure, Laurie was thrilled to be presented with the 2012 SBA 504 Project of the Year

The Quality and Excellence Award has been a tradition at Heartland Bank since 1994 and many of our employees proudly wear the pin each day that signifies this honor. Employees that have been given this award were chosen based on excellent customer service, being an example of a team player, helping other employees and exceeding the expectations of their job duties and responsibilities. Laurie was proud to be presented with the Quality and Excellence pin in October of 2012. To her, it means “integrity, dedication, passion, commitment to your job and clients.”

In her spare time, Laurie likes to scrapbook, read and vacation in various parts of Michigan. She’s the Program Chair for the Rotary Club of Westerville, a ten year volunteer for Relay for Life, and a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Marion.

What would Laurie tell potential clients about Heartland Bank? “Our lenders are well educated in both traditional and non-traditional financing options (SBA, collateral enhancement programs, Capital Access Program, as well as both 504 and 166 loan programs). But, most importantly, we are ethical bankers with first class customer service.”

It is people like Laurie that allow Heartland Bank to give such first class customer service day in and day out. Check us out! You’ll be glad you did!
