Heartland Bank Community Foundation 2023 Charitable Golf Outings

Over the past 26 years, Heartland Bank has been committed to giving back to the communities where the associates live and work. Starting with the founder, Tiney McComb, the bank continues a time-honored tradition of an annual Central Ohio golf outing, and now a second annual outing hosted in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky service area, to enable the awarding of monetary grants to deserving community organizations.

The 3rd annual Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati Heartland Bank Community Foundation golf outing was held at Summit Hills Country Club on August 21st. 22 teams enjoyed a rather steamy round of golf on a gorgeous day in the rolling hills just 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati – we’d like to control all the weather variables for our golfers, but the heat was off the charts! Golfers plan for weather of all types and a great time was had by all!

Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City was the site for the 26th annual Central Ohio Heartland Bank Community Foundation golf outing. Taking place on September 11, this event kicked off with 28 teams giving a moment of silence in honor of 9/11 victims and their families. The course and the weather were both magnificent, and the golfers were appreciative of the opportunity to play at this private course nestled on the eastern edge of Grove City.

Raising over $625,000 since inception, the golf outings have been the primary source of funding for Heartland Bank’s philanthropic giving in the local service areas and a chance to elevate the camaraderie between clients, associates and prospective customers. Networking and introductions are the upside of this honorable event, and the dollars that are raised for local charities are appreciated more than any of the golfers ever fully understand – laptops for high school seniors, beds for Franklin County children and assistance for a therapeutic carriage driving program – just to name a few!

Several of the recipients of funding over just the last couple of years include Joseph’s Coat of Central Ohio, Cincinnati Squash Academy, Dreams on Horseback, Charity Newsies, Columbus Speech and Hearing, City of Grace Church, Neighborhood Bridges, New Day Ranch, St. Vincent Family Services, Use Your Ears, the Buckeye Ranch, Columbus Music Commission, Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Ohio and Greater Cincinnati, Sleep in Heavenly Peace Hilliard and After-School All-Stars Ohio.

With community stewardship as the driving force, the Heartland Bank Community Foundation’s primary focus of giving centers around early childhood and adolescent development and family strengthening and enrichment. The Foundation is part of Heartland's overall charitable giving initiative which enables support of programs that improve quality of life where the clients and associates live and work.
