Heartland associates are committed to their communities. Often growing up and staying close in proximity to their childhood homes, many associates simply find the Ohio and Kentucky regions a great place to fulfill their career aspirations and build their lives. This describes Eric Ragland, assistant manager at the Grove City location, as he grew up in the Cleveland area and now calls Blacklick his home.

Starting at Heartland on his birthday, July 9, 2018, Eric was a dual customer service representative at the Grove City and Wilson Road branches. Currently, as the assistant manager, Eric’s responsibilities include ensuring the operational soundness of his branch and providing support to his direct reports as they work to meet their individual performance standards. His advice to them and to any new Heartland associates, “Continue to be a student and learn something new every day!”

Eric continues his own learning by passing the state of Ohio Life and Health exam to become a Licensed Banker through the Licensed Bank Employee program at Heartland. Additionally, he shared, “I recently participated in, and graduated from, the Southwest Leadership program through the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce.” Heartland associates are encouraged to explore options for career advancement and innovative training to boost their current skills and contribute to a successful occupational path. “My goal professionally is to be the best at my current position as possible and the rest will take care of itself,” added Eric.

Heartland associates are also proud to share their internal awards – recognition that providing value to the client experience is noticed and celebrated. The Quality and Excellence award is one that is voted on by an associate’s peers. “Quality and Excellence is consistently demonstrating the core values of Heartland Bank. I am honored to have been recognized by my peers and to be chosen as a recipient of the award,” added Eric. He and his Grove City branch also won several awards in the recent Triple Play Campaign hosted by the Retail division.

Eric is also somewhat of a Heartland cheerleader when describing the bank. “We offer a more personalized and family-style banking relationship than the larger banks. We are also actively involved in supporting our local community through our volunteerism. Heartland Bank was awarded a 5-star rating by Bauer Financial which reflects our core principles and values. With more than 110 years of service, we strive to provide our clients with financial security during times of uncertainty.”

Finally, Eric added a few details for a glimpse into what makes him a well-rounded Heartland associate, “In my personal life – I am currently saving so that in the next 12 months I can purchase a home. I volunteer at Arts in the Alley in Grove City, working at the information booth and have participated for the last three years. My outside hobbies and interests consist of spending time with family, traveling and watching sports.”

Heartland is always looking for individuals that are aspiring to establish roots with a family-friendly bank in a great part of the country – come on over to Heartland, where banking truly does feel good!
