Celebrating all the Good Hilliard Food Pantry Does for Our Community

From downtown to Dublin and Grove City to Gahanna, local food pantries serve the needs of the less fortunate in our communities all year long. As Heartland Bank plans for the upcoming grand opening of our new branch office in Hilliard, we thought it fitting to host a canned food drive for the Hilliard Food Pantry at last week’s All Employee Meeting at Valley Dale Ballroom on Sunbury Road.

Our generous employees donated 732 items (including canned chicken, canned tuna, canned fruit and other miscellaneous pantry staples) and presented the items to the Executive Director of the Hilliard Food Pantry, Ray Hanback. “Depending upon the size of the family, this generous Heartland Bank donation will assist needy families for the next six-eight weeks!” Hanback said. The Hilliard Food Pantry was established nearly 50 years ago and serves families living in the Hilliard School District. Qualifying families can receive monthly allocations of non-perishable items such as canned and boxed food, bread, personal care items, and a grocery gift card to purchase meat and dairy items. The organization can also provide a yearly stipend for families that need emergency assistance with their gas, water and electricity service.

The Hilliard Food Pantry, operated by the Hilliard Community Assistance Council, is a nonprofit 501©3 organization. Tax deductible cash contributions help provide much-needed food and non-perishable items in addition to utility assistance to Hilliard families in need. If you’d like to make a cash donation, please visit their website www.hilliardfoodpantry.org and donate via PayPal’s secure webpage. If you’d like to make a donation of food, there are five (5) convenient drop off locations in Hilliard – YMCA, Library, Senior Center and the Norwich Township Fire Station, as well as at the pantry at 5454 Franklin Street in Old Hilliard.

New branch manager Brent Voss is looking forward to working closely with Ray and the other volunteers at the Hilliard Food Pantry. “It is a wonderful local organization that is serving the needs of the Hilliard community. I’m really looking forward to serving the Hilliard community and showing them what it means to bank “Where Banking Feels Good.”

Whether you are able to help or are in need of help, Heartland is proud to be able to serve you and your family now and in the future. Stop by any of our 12 locations and experience “Where Banking Feels Good!
