Monday, May 23, 2016/Categories: Community

Summer is just around the corner and you’ll find Heartland Bankers busy supporting local communities all around central Ohio. We’ve got a collection of some of the great events that you should put on your list of ‘things to do’ and hopefully, we’ll get to see you when you’re out and about this summer!

Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival

Jazz Stage, presented by Heartland Bank

June 17-19, Mill, Town and Walnut Streets in the Creekside District. Hosted by the Gahanna Convention and Visitors Bureau, this music festival is the showcase for the best blues and jazz music in Ohio, if not the Midwest. Music isn't all that this renowned event has to offer. Centered around Creekside Park, the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival promises something for everyone with more than 90 hours of entertainment, bourbon and craft beer tastings, free Family Fun Zone, artisans, amusement rides and of course great food! Join us at the Heartland Bank RV, parked directly adjacent to the Jazz Stage.

Westerville Music & Arts Festival, presented by Heartland Bank

July 9-10, Heritage Park. This summer festival was recently named Best Suburban Arts Festival in the ‘Best of the Bus’ poll from City Scene Magazine. Hosted by the Westerville Chamber of Commerce, you’ll enjoy this family friendly outdoor event that features fine art and craft exhibits, and live entertainment. Win prizes at the Heartland Bank booth and meet our Westerville Branch Manager Chuck Woodson, Commercial Relationship Manager Laurie Pfeiffer or Heartland Bank VP of Investment Services Mark Posey! If you’re riding your bike to the festival, why not leave it safe and secure in the Bike Corral, sponsored and staffed by Heartland Bank employees and volunteers. Located near the Main St. entrance to the festival grounds, the corral will be free to use, but all donations will benefit 2016 Pelotonia.

Summer Jam

July 16, Westgate Park. Summer Jam is a community friendly, free art and music festival held annually at Westgate Park. Bringing joy, music and art to the Hilltop, organizers will take advantage of warm summer days in a beautiful green park setting to bring family, friends and neighbors together. Wilson Road Branch Manager Peggy Frebault and Gold Client Service Representative Jetta Berry (who also serves as Summer Jam treasurer) will be hosting the Heartland Bank hospitality tent, so stop by and say hello!

Hartford Fair

August 7-13, Fairgrounds, Croton, Ohio. The Demolition Derby (August 10) is the highlight of Heartland Bank Day at the 158th annual Hartford Fair. If you’re looking for some smash ‘em, crash ‘em excitement, stop in and visit with Johnstown Branch Manager Randy Kelly at the Heartland Bank booth under the Grandstand!

Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival, presented by Heartland Bank

August 12-13, Huber Park on Davidson Drive. Festival goers enjoy tomato displays and contests, concessions, arts and craft exhibits, live musical entertainment, children’s activities and the opportunity to meet the friendly people of Reynoldsburg at this 51st annual event! Stop by the Heartland Bank RV, take a ride in the Heartland Bank hot air balloon and visit with Reynoldsburg Branch Manager Brent Carroll and his staff!

Grove City Arts in the Alley, presented by Heartland Bank

September 17-18, Grove City Town Center. Hosted by the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce, more than 100 juried exhibitors display and sell fine art, photography, jewelry, crafts, fabric art, glasswork, pottery and wood creations. Saturday morning’s parade highlights a weekend of musical entertainment featured on the Heartland Bank stage at this 37th annual event! Stop in and visit with Branch Manager Shirley Spellman and her staff from the Grove City Branch.

Newark Bluegrass on Main Street Festival, presented by Heartland Bank

September 17, downtown Newark. West Main Street will be blocked off between Third and Fourth streets for the Bluegrass on Main Street festival on Saturday, September 17. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a beer garden and food from local food trucks. The music will kick off at noon with performances by several bluegrass legends, including professors from festival sponsor Denison University’s music department. Students at Denison can major in music with a concentration in bluegrass, one of the only programs of its kind in the country.

Enjoy a restful and refreshing summer! Take time to read a book, take a walk, go on a picnic and don’t miss the festivals and events sponsored by your friends at Heartland Bank. With thirteen central Ohio locations to serve you, we are there to make banking a ‘breeze’ (which feels pretty good when it’s hot outside!).
