24th Annual Heartland Bank Community Foundation Charity Golf Classic

24th Annual Heartland Bank Community Foundation Charity Golf Classic

Monday, September 20, 2021/Categories: Heartland Bank

Sunny skies and perfect course conditions awaited all 24 teams at the 24th Annual Heartland Bank Community Foundation Charity Golf Classic. The Golf Club at Little Turtle was an exceptional venue, and the golfers couldn’t ask for a more perfect experience while supporting a very deserving organization.

Starting out as an effort to help a few local children’s charities in 1996, the Golf Classic is a full-scale annual fundraiser that has been increasing in popularity each year for the last 24 years. After the very first outing, the bank made a small donation to the Licking County 4H Horse Council. This year, the proceeds will be donated to the Heartland Bank Community Foundation. Heartland has made benevolent donations of almost $562,000 since the Classic’s inception.

Former recipients of funds from the Charity Golf Classic include Charity Newsies, Joshua Perry Foundation, Lifetown Lessons for Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, the Buckeye Ranch Foundation and Junior Achievement, among many others.

Last year, Heartland’s charitable foundation became the organizer and owner of this traditional event. With community stewardship as the driving force, the Heartland Bank Community Foundation’s primary focus of giving centers around early childhood and adolescent development and family strengthening and enrichment. The Foundation is part of Heartland's overall charitable giving initiative, which enables support of programs that improve quality of life where the clients and associates live and work.

Thus far in 2021, the Foundation has proudly supported 31 local organizations with others soon to follow. LifeCare Alliance, Buckeye Ranch, House of New Hope, Patches of Light and Reynoldsburg Helping Hands are just a few of the groups receiving funding from this growing Foundation.

With the commitment of the Foundation and local community support, the success of this annual event can be traced back to the sponsors, vendors, partners, and even the Heartland Bank family. The Foundation is proud to remain active in this tradition, honoring the work of Heartland’s founder, Tiney McComb. He was committed to the communities his bank served, as are the Heartland associates today.
