Mortgage Loan Application Checklist
You’re not done yet – the application is done, but wait, there’s more!
All borrowers will need to provide:
- Valid Driver’s License or other government issued photo identification, date of birth and social security number
- Most recent past two month statements for checking, savings, stocks, mutual funds, IRAs, and/or other liquid asset accounts
- Addresses for landlord for mortgage holder for the past two years
- Complete loan information - balance, monthly payment, rents collected ( if applicable)
- Copy of sales contract (if available)
- Copy of canceled check for a security deposit
- Documents for any additional sources of income to aid in qualifying (if applicable)
Employed/salaried borrowers will need to provide:
- Paycheck stubs for the last 30 days
- Last two years’ federal tax returns and W-2s
Self-employed borrowers (and owners of over 25% of a business) will need to provide:
- Last two years’ federal business tax returns
- Year-to-date balance sheet and profit/loss statement
- Last two years’ federal corporate or partnership tax returns (if applicable)
Possible items needed:
- For refinance, survey and/or appraisal
- Bankruptcy papers
- Documents pertaining to credit issues
- Divorce papers regarding finances
- Receipts if property was bought or sold
