Joe Gottron Joins Heartland Bank as EVP and Chief Administrative Officer

Gahanna, Ohio - May, 25, 2016 - Heartland BancCorp (OTCQB:HLAN), parent company of Heartland Bank, today announced that Joe Gottron has joined the executive team at Heartland Bank as EVP and Chief Administrative Officer. In addition to Information Technology, Cyber & Information Security, Joe will also take a leadership role with the new Distribution Strategies department.

Prior to joining Heartland Bank in early April, Joe spent 8 years at Cardinal Health, where he held the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Pharmaceutical Segment. In that leadership role, he was responsible for the technology strategy, planning, solution implementation and business application support underpinning the core businesses of Pharmaceutical Distribution, Nuclear Pharmacy Services, and Specialty Solutions. Prior to Cardinal Health, Joe spent 6 years at the Huntington National Bank, where he led the technology team as the Chief Information Officer. He started his professional career at IBM, where over the course of 16 years he held a variety of sales, marketing and leadership roles.

Dedicated to the Central Ohio community, Gottron is actively engaged in a variety of ways. Most recently, he joined the Board of Directors at Sophisticated Systems, Inc. (SSI). He also just recently completed an Executive In Residence curriculum enhancement engagement with Columbus State Community College. At Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), he currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees. In 2015, he served as the Chairman of the American Heart Association Central Ohio Heart Walk. In prior years, he has also served on the board of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), the Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation and the Gahanna-Lincoln High School Business Advisory Council.
