Mission Backpack 2018 is underway!

Monday, August 6, 2018/Categories: Community, Heartland Bank

Heartland Bank works hard to be an active participant within the communities we serve. With back-to-school time around the corner, we realize that the ever-increasing school supply list can be daunting for some parents each year as the new school year begins. Thus, Heartland has once again partnered with 104.9 The River for Mission Backpack 2018 - providing smiles to both kids and parents!

The goal for this year was to collect up to 1049 backpacks to benefit the hundreds of children in need in Central Ohio. Local donations have been accepted at all of the fifteen Heartland Bank locations in Central Ohio with an ending date of August 4th. With over 25 items on the list below, we hoped that co-workers would join forces, families could all contribute, or businesses would work as a team to fill the backpacks…spreading the costs between several members seemed like a great way to tackle this list.

If you didn’t have time to purchase and fill a backpack, you can still make a monetary donation on 104.9 The River’s website. Click here to let them do the shopping for you. This is a great way to contribute and perfect for those of you who conduct most of your shopping from your digital device anyway!

Heartland Bank and The River will also be partnering for the manual labor required to evenly distribute all the supplies between all the donated backpacks. All donations will be collected and delivered to Heartland Bank’s Corporate Center at 430 North Hamilton Road in Whitehall. So, if you missed the August 4th deadline at your local branch, feel free to bring your donation to our Corporate office until the end of the day on August 8th, when we will be sorting out the goodies.

According to our Marketing Director, Gretchen Hof, “Keep in mind that every box of crayons, spiral notebook and bottle of glue helps and if you’re out and about in the next few days, remember that every item counts, no matter how small, and every donation is greatly appreciated.”

Heartland Bank and 104.9 The River have been partnering for several years to make this project possible. Without the generous donations from around our Central Ohio communities, the smiles of the appreciative parents and children would not be possible. Additionally, if you’re looking for a bank that can put this kind of smile on your face, stop by any one of our 15 branch locations where we hope to entice you to be financial partners with us for years to come!
