Heartland Bank was proud to announce its new NIL partnerships in August of this year. But now, as college sports are in full swing, we are even more excited to share what Haskell Garrett and E.J. Liddell are up to as they represent Heartland Bank at visits and events all over the Central Ohio area.
Haskell has been somewhat busy in the Shoe with football, but you can find a life-size, cutout version of him in all of our Central Ohio branches – stop in for a selfie or pose like his basketball counterpart, E.J. Liddell! During the summer, he stopped in for some photo opportunities at our Heartland Bank Charity Golf Classic providing pictures for social media and golfers lucky enough to have arrived early. Haskell also recently visited students at the Gahanna schools, telling his story and sharing the bank’s #RelationshipsMatter and Bank On Community Banking campaigns.
These campaigns were designed to complement these players’ bank-coordinated activities and give purpose to their NIL partnerships with Heartland. They will contain financial education and messaging for the underbanked and for Central Ohio’s young adults who desire a valued financial partner. “One of the early lessons everyone has to learn is how to seek and understand the value of a relationship with your community banker,” said Chairman, President and CEO Scott McComb.
Utilizing the exposure and public recognition inherent with players at these young men’s notoriety levels, Heartland is positioned to reach a younger generation that may not view banking and financial awareness as a priority in life. Banking on their contribution to the bank’s efforts, Heartland is excited to schedule radio interviews, in-person signing sessions, meet-and-greets, and a variety of social media posts and blasts. Getting the message out that relationships matter – especially with your banker – is the goal, and Haskell and E.J. are committed to stepping up and spreading the message that community banking is accessible and dependable.
As for E.J. Liddell, basketball season is about to sweep him up and the Schott will get most of his time. However, he did stop in at our Upper Arlington branch for a few pictures touting our Collect-A-Coat campaign benefiting Victory Ministries in Whitehall. E.J. will soon be life-size as a cutout in our branches too, and he will quickly enter the rotation for events, meet-and-greets and signing sessions.
As basketball season continues into 2022 and hopefully football season too, keep an eye out for E.J. and Haskell as they share on social media, over the radio waves and in person at several events spanning the rest of the academic year. If you’re looking for their cutouts or to build a relationship with an accessible and dependable banker, come on over to any of Heartland’s 15 full-service Central Ohio branches today!
