Heartland is happy to hand out checks!

Heartland begins 2020 with exciting news for several local charities. Check presentations for donations are around the corner as the Marketing Department crunches the numbers and reviews the recipient lists – the results of another holiday season of giving at the bank.

On Saturday, December 14th, the Heartland Bank family gathered at the Renaissance Hotel by Marriot-Polaris in Westerville for the 23rd Annual Silent Auction and Holiday Celebration for its associates. A nostalgic dinnertime spread, complete with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and desert, is provided to each associate - an annual favorite dating back to the request of the bank’s founder, Tiney McComb. Live music by Lieutenant Dan’s New Legs (LDNL) was the after-dinner entertainment.

The associates in turn embrace their giving side with the opportunity to bid on silent auction items collected as donations by the Heartland Holiday Party Committee. Once again, a small raffle-type auction was also included with the benefits from selling raffle tickets going to the new Heartland Cares Fund. $1,200 was raised for this program that aids associates experiencing financial hardship due to an unexpected personal crisis.

Several local charities, suggested by associates of each branch office, receive a portion of the proceeds from the silent auction. This year, thanks to the generosity of local businesses, clients and Heartland associates, $9,129.00 was raised with over $101,000 donated since 1996 when the auction was added as a feature of the annual party.

Central Ohio’s community bank is proud to continue the tradition of giving back to the communities it serves each holiday season.  The charities supported this year are listed below. Each charity will receive just around $500 each. If you’re interested in supporting any of these charities, please feel free to visit their websites for more information:
