Employee Spotlight on Bob Crow

This month’s Employee Spotlight features another effective leader and respected colleague of the Heartland Bank team, our VP, Commercial Relationship Manager in Grove City, Bob Crow. He began his career at Heartland in March of 2006 as a Commercial Loan Processor. A proud graduate of Muskingum College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, he works hard as an advisor for local businesses with respect to their commercial financial needs.

As a valued member of the Commercial Lending Department, Bob spends his work days trying to promote the growth and development of his portfolio through calling efforts, community involvement and related activities. He prepares accurate and concise loan analyses for review and decision making and most importantly, he conducts proper portfolio management including annual reviews, customer credit data maintenance and collection activities. “The position of Commercial Relationship Manager has given me the incredible vantage point of observing my business clients as they realize their dreams by achieving growth and success,” said Bob. 

This year, Bob was awarded “The 2015 Lender of the Year” by both the Ohio Statewide Development Corporation (OSDC) and the Community Capital Development Corporation (CCDC). He is one of only a few lenders to earn the OSDC award for a second time.

Heartland Bank Chairman, President and CEO Scott McComb said “Bob brings an insightful approach to Commercial Lending by doing what’s right for the client, not just what is easiest. His continued awards for SBA Lender of the Year show how he utilizes all of the tools available to help his Heartland clients.”

Additionally, Bob was proud to be presented with the Quality and Excellence pin in September of 2006. The Quality and Excellence Award has been a tradition at Heartland Bank since 1994 and many of our employees proudly wear the pin each day to signify this honor. Employees that have been given this award were chosen based on excellent customer service, being an example of a team player, helping other employees and exceeding the expectations of their job duties and responsibilities. To Bob it means: “providing exceptional customer service while exceeding expectations with integrity and ethics.”

Personal growth and learning are always a focus for Bob. This is what enables him to offer strong and knowledgeable guidance to his clients. Outside of the office, in his spare time, he enjoys fishing and hunting. His true passion, however, is observing his children while they are involved in their extracurricular activities. 

What would Bob tell potential clients about Heartland Bank? “Have fun, enjoy the ride, we have amazing people working here and everyone is willing to help wherever needed. I know this sounds cliché, but we live it at Heartland. We are a caring community bank in the true sense of the word.”

“I have the support of local decision making which enables me to think outside of the box, as well as the ability to utilize our exposure to all of the government and state sponsored lending programs,” he said.
