In her role as a Client Services Specialist, Alex supports our many customers by answering questions via phone calls, chats and emails. Did you forget your Login ID to get into Online Banking? Need help researching an expense shown on your statement that you don’t think you made? Can’t figure out how to get the new One Time Pin? Alex and her friendly co-workers at Client Services will answer your call, return your email or chat with you during business hours. In addition to her responsibilities in Client Services, Alex also works as a Treasury Management Specialist. After earning her Certified Treasury Professional accreditation in January of this year, Alex now assists the commercial lenders with finding the right products and services to benefit their business customers. “Sometimes, that means going on a farm visit with one of our Agribusiness bankers or meeting a business customer at their office or in one of the branch locations,” Alex said. She assists with all aspects of fact-finding for treasury management products, like ACH payments, Remote Deposit Capture, Merchant Services or Positive Pay. This continues with processing the proper paperwork, setting up cash management access and serving as that client’s go-to person.

Heartland Bank CEO, G. Scott McComb, said – “Alex has recently achieved her accreditation as a Certified Treasury Professional and has assisted many of our business clients in the online banking and cash management space. Her client service skills are top notch and she is highly regarded as a patient trainer for our business clients.”

The Quality & Excellence Award has been a tradition at Heartland Bank since 1994 and many of our employees proudly wear the pin each day that signifies that honor. Employees that have been given this award were chosen based on excellent customer service, being an example of a team player, helping other employees and exceeding the expectations of their job duties and responsibilities. Alex was proud to be presented with the Quality and Excellence pin in October of 2014. To her, it means “going the extra mile for your customers and co-workers to provide consistent, outstanding customer service. It means listening, caring and resolving their questions or issues while exceeding their expectations.”

According to Alex, “The employees that make up Heartland Bank are hard-working people that live and serve in their communities. We have a passion for making a difference and improving other people’s lives. We look out for our customers, even if we have to show them ‘tough love’”. On a personal note, after becoming frustrated with the lack of service at one of the local ‘big banks’, Alex and her husband looked to refinance their mortgage at a Community Bank and visited the Heartland Bank branch in Johnstown. “We received a warm welcome and excellent service from John Morgan, current assistant manager at the Stygler Road branch, and shortly moved all of our accounts to the bank.” When an employment opportunity opened up at Heartland Bank several months later, she felt sure that she’d be a good fit as a CSR and started work at the bank in July of 2012.

After spending her senior year in high school as an exchange student in Germany, she eventually settled and graduated from college there with a degree in Public Management from Hamburg University. She’s an active volunteer at her church (children’s ministries and community outreach) and enjoyed helping the Heartland Bank Balloon Crew tether at the Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival last summer. In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano and guitar, outdoor photography, traveling and reading.

It’s people like Alex that allow Heartland Bank to give such great customer service day in and day out. Thanks to Alex and ALL our employees for working so hard to keep integrity and honesty in the forefront.
